Nego True – I’m Not Here to Tell You You’re Beautiful (Official Video)

With a slightly lengthy title, I couldn’t help but share Nego‘s latest creation… well the video for it. When someone just has a way with words that touch your emotions, you can’t not share their creations. I’m thoroughly looking forward to his new book also. This spoken word is extremely relevant to today’s generation and is something I have written about before. Beauty is an intrinsic quality that means different things to different people, but for some reason the media want to keep creating a “perfect” idea of beauty.

A Post-Apocapitalistic World

I have previously described capitalism like a zombie apocalypse and we all know what happens after a zombie apocalypse… absolutely nothing, just a bunch of zombies searching for the last drop of fresh blood to sip on. But what happens in a post-capitalism world? Who knows. But it is most definitely time to start saying goodbye to capitalism.
From the day you are born, your world revolves around money and the older you get, the greater part it plays in your life. Every rapper is holding a stash of money in their music video, but they might as well be hugging a tree if they love paper so much.
Now… what is money? A piece of paper/metal? A number on a screen? If you look on a £5 note it says “I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of five pounds”. Think about it, your whole life revolves around an exchange of promises. Money is an anthropogenic creation that governs our lives. Think of capitalism like Frankenstein’s monster; an idea that initially had good intentions but went completely wrong and started destroying the world.

“The average human on earth has about $4,000 to their name” (WaitButWhy)

Before capital, objects of similar worth would be exchanged, for example 5 chickens for an axe or a cow. The trade is agreed by the owners depending on their needs. This means that no one is caught out and thus trade is a means of equality and obtaining necessities. However, since the development of capital and capitalism, it has turned into a means of dividing the human race and exacerbating our worst qualities, i.e. greed, depression, anger etc. So to repeat, money is an idea gone wrong, because it wasn’t controlled during the beginning stages, so a few took advantage of it until it got out of hand to the point that currently, in the present day and age 1% of the global population own over 50% of the total global capital, or the bottom 50% (3.5 BILLION PEOPLE) of the population own just 1% of global money.

“The combined wealth of the richest 85 people is equal to the combined wealth of the poorest 3.5 billion people”

Right, so I hope that now you understand why money is the worst invention ever. “We’ve always had money, that will never ever change” I hear you say, then what comes after money? Just because money is all we know, does not me it’s all that has ever been and all that will ever be.

What can we do instead?
Well for starters we should break away from the government and split up into small communities, with a mayor or council in charge of each community. We need to do this because each community has different needs, some require more jobs, some require better education etc. It is impossible for a centralised government to cater for everybody’s needs, especially when the central government is only interested in making the rich, richer and the poor, poorer. Banks should solely store money and nothing else! An initial fee should be payed for the service and that’s it. Money should NOT be allowed to be borrowed from banks – people can learn to save before buying things they don’t need.
I think food should be rationed (not like during the World Wars) but in the sense that everyone has a limit on the food that they can buy, to stop obesity and stop the wasting of food. Everyone should be on equal terms when it comes to food and water.
My next idea might confuse or even anger you or you might just find it weird. The idea of money needs to go completely *pretends to slam dunk the idea in the trash*. All money should be burned and all numbers on computers wiped. This instantly puts everyone on equal grounds. Without money, no one person is better than another. If there’s no money, what is there? Well, ideally… nothing. A doctor needs a farmer, a plumber, builder etc to sustain a living. Cleaners, housemaids etc, every job in a community is necessary no matter how small or insignificant. This means that every single person within the community has to rely on each other to sustain a living, so a simple exchange of services between one another is what should drive the community. This would require team work on a large scale, cooperation and trust between every member. Now if everyone is treated as an equal, there is no need for one person to act better than another person. Greed and anger are qualities that should not be tolerated under any circumstances in a small community, so a person who acts out of line would be punished, whether prison, community service (for example picking rubbish, cleaning graffiti) or something worse potentially, depending on the size of the crime. In addition to this, because communities are small, word of mouth is powerful, and “criminals” would be known to all. This means that once their punishment is over, everyone would be cautious of them. This again would act as another deterrent for crime.

“I hope that real love and truth are stronger in the end than any evil or misfortune in the world.” – Charles Dickens

If we don’t act soon, nature will. Nature is much more powerful than the most powerful man on the planet. No money on the earth can overcome Mother Nature. If Mother Nature is angry you will know. Earthquakes, monsoons, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions… all devastating phenomenons that we are trying to fighting a losing battle against. Anthropogenic global warming is not a myth, and these events are increasing in frequency and strength. We are currently too greedy and are exploiting the earth’s resources to benefit ourselves, but sooner or later we will end up paying for it. Money cannot save us when all the trees have been chopped down, all the rivers polluted and everyone is angry at everyone else.
We are the only specie that is destroying this planet. What makes us so special? What right do we have to take advantage? You wouldn’t go home with a wrecking ball and start knocking it down, so why do that to the Earth?
Show love and respect, and you will get that in return. Give out hatred and anger, and evil will come back to you.

“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”  – Martin Luther King Jr.

Shocka Freestyle (YDK Exclusive)

Shocka has a way with words that I’ve never heard from any other artist. He is SO underrated, but I seriously hope his forthcoming mixtape, “F.I.S.T” gets the credit it deserves. Shocks is on the same wavelength as me, as is “F.I.S.T” which is why I’m SO excited about it. I love seeing an artist that has a message to send, so this freestyle is a little exclusive of what’s in store!

Media’s Influence in the Ukraine/Russia Situation

“First of all, I don’t understand where this hate against Russia comes from, but I would like to take a guess. Americans.”

Nearly every film that comes from The States that has a villain character, there’s a very big chance that they’re Russian. What’s worse is that the actors are hardly ever Russian, and just have terrible stereotypical Russian accents. These villains are also always portrayed as glamorous, sexy, and filthy rich, however this is not the reality. The majority of Russian’s have a worse quality of life than many brits. Actually… maybe not worse, but much more traditional with less luxuries. More basic.
For many years I was embarrassed to tell people that I’m Russian, however more and more, recently I’ve been feeling patriotic. I’ve been realising what a great country Russia is and  just how terribly it is perceived across the world.
This is the view outside the flat that I’m staying in in Russia currently, and as you can tell all the stereotypes you have of Russia are very much true. Mr. Vladimir Putin is indeed riding on a grizzly bear. Unfortunately the snow melted today, but believe it or not, it is -25°C outside…

Jokes over, but before I move onto the topic of this post, I want to get another rant off my chest. RUSSIA IS NOT COLD 24/7! Here is a map of the world (the mercator version of the world map is slightly warped, which is why Africa seems a lot smaller, but regardless Russia is still massive):

As you can see, Russia is by far the biggest country on this map. It spans nine different time zones… NINE!! There were previously 11, but Mr. Putin decided to abolish two of them. It also has an area of over 17 million square kilometres and covers two continents,  the UK is just under 245,000 square kilometres. Basically… Russia is hella big. As you can see on the map, the highest point of Russia is about the same latitude as Greenland, Alaska, Iceland etc, whilst the lowest point is around the same latitude as Spain, Italy, Turkey etc. This means that Russia experiences both extremes, -60°C to 45°C… believe it or not! I have experienced 45°C heat as well as -25°C colds in Russia… now please stop stereotyping!
I’ve been to Ukraine many times. My granddad lives there at the moment and many of my close family members — including my mother — have lived there previously and never have we received hate or dislike from from Ukrainians. I remember I used to play with the other local kids that lived in our block of flats every afternoon and there was never ever any discrimination or hate so I don’t know why things have changed now. What I can say though is that Ukraine is poor, infrastructure isn’t great and roads are terrible. I was speaking to my grandma a few weeks ago, and she was telling me how several decades ago, Ukraine was rich compared to Russia, especially the countryside. As they’d drive by, they would see big lavish houses, with plenty of cows and chickens, flowers, fruit and vegetables patches in the garden whilst Russia had none of this. Another point I’d like to make is that to someone from Europe/England, the health and safety standards are close to non-existent. Even going to the market, stall sellers would not wear gloves when handling raw foods (including meat and fish), they would not wash their hands either, but they will gladly take your money and give you the appropriate change with the same hands that they just used to pick up raw meat that’s been out in the heat all day… imagine that.
I’m not sure what the turning point was for all this violence in Ukraine, but I’m sure Crimea had something to do with it. Russia gave Crimea away to Ukraine around 60 years ago, thus the people that lived there were and are Russian, so to me it is no surprise that after the referendum, the Russians living in Ukraine decided to become part of Russia once again, what’s wrong with that? It’s the same as Scotland wanting independence, and after this years general election, I hope Scotland do gain independence, so at least some of the population is saved from the torture that’s yet to come from the Tories. Territorial borders are changed all the time, but there’s no need to start wars or kill people because of it.
My reasons for blaming America in this situation is as follows; America is training Ukrainian men to become soldiers, America is also providing weaponry and money for the anarchy that’s going on. America is funding the war in Iraq and now it’s doing the same with Ukraine, for no reason what so ever! America has enough problems of its own to solve, let alone cause more elsewhere. How about solving their economic inequality? Their terrible healthcare system? Their awful energy use and fracking overload? America participated in World Wars that had nothing to do with them… it seems to me that Americans like war… hmm… interesting. On another note, when Obama was asked where Ukraine is in the world, his response was “that’s a good question”. Weather this is a joke or a true story, I don’t know but it does put things in perspective and it wouldn’t surprise me if it were true.
The situation in Ukraine is currently getting worse, some areas are worse than others, but one thing is for sure; nothing is getting better.  I can provide you with firsthand evidence of what’s going on, away from the propaganda you see in the media, away from the one-sided global hate towards Russia. Actual evidence. My auntie visits her father in Ukraine every few months, she went last autumn and again this April. When she went last year, things were fine, she felt safe etc however this time she said she didn’t want to leave the flat if she didn’t have to, she felt like she couldn’t wear normal/nice clothes out and wore her father’s shirts etc when she went out, she didn’t want to leave the flat with her phone, she said that there are stray dogs, beggars and poor people everywhere. Basically its not a pleasant place to be. Many people are moving out of Ukraine to Russia to seek refuge, good doctors are moving out and few good doctors remain. If patients need treatment they are flown/driven to Russia to get aid. If Russia was causing chaos in Ukraine, it would not be accepting all of these refugees… think about it.
Ukraine has gone from being fairly well off to poor in quite a short space of time, and any problem that they have they blame on the Russians. Ukraine no longer shows Russian TV channels, and hasn’t for probably about a year now, so all they see is this propaganda and anti-Russia messages on TV, to the point that they have been brainwashed to believe in it. They have nothing else to believe. My granddad has family living in Russia and even he believes Russians are causing problems… his own daughters live in Russia and he still believes this propaganda. Ukrainians are killing innocent people, their own people, children, families… it’s very sad. Every Russian person I’ve spoken to is outraged at the lies that are being told about us, it’s simply not true but somehow Ukraine and the rest of the world believe them. My mum and aunties have many friends that they know from school, university etc out in Ukraine,  but many of them have recently decided to stop talking to us. All it takes is a bit of research to understand the situation. I haven’t done any research myself but what I do have is first hand evidence that hasn’t been twisted by the media.
This situation is extremely sad. This violence is only causing deaths, hatred and sorrow. Absolutely no benefits and absolutely no motive behind it. This story goes to show just how much power the media has in brainwashing the GLOBAL population, not just one country’s population, but in many all over the world. Once again this goes to show that the whole of the media network is owned by only a handful of people and you shouldn’t believe everything you see in the paper. Please stop the hate, we’re good people that are very proud of our country and are proud of how far we’ve come.

Is Being Unfaithful in Relationships Actually Beneficial?

“Maybe cheating in a relationship isn’t the worst thing you could do, maybe it’s just human nature?”

Remember when you were a child, and your parents would tell you you’re not allowed to eat sweets, or make a mess in your bedroom, and you’d do the complete opposite and crave it even more just because you’re not allowed? Or if you’re on a diet, you know you’re not allowed cake or carbs, but simply because you know you’re not allowed it, you want it even more? Well surely the same applies in relationships?
Firstly, I want to start by saying we’re not perfect, but perfection is something we should strive towards. Honesty is the best policy.
A friend of mine is genuinely one of the loveliest people I know, with the best heart and the best intentions and I don’t want to show him in a negative light whatsoever, simply provide you with an alternative idea. I’ve known him for a few years, however we only started speaking properly about a year ago. We both found each other attractive, blah blah blah, so we decided to book a hotel room. He ignored me for a few days, so obviously something was wrong, then he told me there’s another girl he loves (obviously I didn’t know this before), as they weren’t together. I didn’t think much of it, actually I was extremely envious of this girl, and that she has someone in her life that is so dedicated and faithful. A few months later, conversation escalated, and we once again decided to go hotel, and a few days beforehand he once again cancelled. This time I was pretty angry and upset, because he’d lead me on and then cancelled. Obviously we’re not together but I’m my own person too at the end of the day and don’t want to be lead on.
Another few months later we started talking, innocent conversation about gym, films etc (this time via dm on twitter as I deleted his number and vice versa, I assume), and I had calmed down over the previous incident, he was a genuinely lovely person and I admire the faithfulness to his yet to be girlfriend, I hope I find someone like that in the future. But anyway, we decided to have a gym session together, as we live near each other we went to the park, and for the majority of it, it was a really good session, fun, productive (my legs KILLED the following day) but there was sexual tension, especially towards the end. My back was super sore from gym the previous day and he offered a massage, it was rubbish and he didn’t get very far unfortunately as he was starting to give in, and couldn’t resist the attraction any longer. Not a lot happened as I stopped him, before it escalated too far. I’d hate for my future husband to cheat on me, so I could only give this couple the same respect (they were together a few months at this point). The following day he thanked me, and was grateful for stopping him.
The point of this example is, I know my friend loves his girlfriend very much but none of us are perfect and we all give in to temptation now and again. Many males/females cheat because they have a craving, and a hoe gets in the way that has no respect for the relationship and only wants his/ her needs fulfilled, few will have a conscience and stop anything from  happening.
Alternatively, on a separate occasion I was speaking to another friend about this topic. He told me that he’s seen a sidechick/man save many relationships. His reasons were that if you have an argument with your partner, instead of ending the relationship, you go to see a sidechick/man, relax, then go back to your partner happy and proceed as normal. I disagree with his reasoning however I see the point behind it.
As long as you don’t make a habit out of temptation, and are honest… maybe we’re too extreme when it comes to cheating? I disagree with cheating, and don’t condone it, however this is just a thought. Everyone get’s bored of everything eventually if you get too high a dose, it’s just a matter of balance.

Freedom is a LIE

“Are we really free? Or is it a concept we are taught to believe that doesn’t really exist?”

Anything we do in our daily life is supposedly a free choice. We CHOOSE what food we buy at the supermarket and also whether we lead a healthy lifestyle or not, we CHOOSE when we want to go out and where, we CHOOSE what clothes we want to wear every day, we CHOOSE who we want to vote for, what house to buy etc.
Similar to my last long post “Brand or Brainwash”, I believe our lives are also brainwashed (I’m also starting to think that the film “The Matrix” is based on real life, lol). Derren Brown guesses what word a person is thinking of not by mind reading, but by influencing them subconsciously in such a way that will make them think of that particular word. For example if the word is “giraffe” he will place images of giraffes everywhere, so it looks natural but still prominent. The person will then believe that they thought of the word “giraffe” on their own without external influence. if you’ve seen any of his programmes you will know this. This is  just one method of external/subconscious influence. Another is keeping information from you, to make you believe that what you know is the only choice available – the most important method.
I will attempt to explain my reasoning via 3 examples: Health & Lifestyle, Education & Work and Politics.

Health & Lifestyle

The first point I want to make, is that it is becoming increasingly easy and cheap to lead an unhealthy lifestyle. Fizzy drinks, ready-made meals, takeaways, snacks (crips, chocolate, sweets etc) are all becoming so cheap to buy, but mainly they are so convenient. As people are becoming more and more lazy, they want food to be ready faster, and cooking is slowly becoming a greater chore. In addition to this, fast-foods are packed with additives and flavourings that make them so addictive and delicious. Even those that do cook at home, tend to use ready-made sauces and pastries. Thanks to Dolmio, anyone can make an Italian Bolognese in under 15 minutes! Isn’t that convenient?! Meat and fish, fruit & veg are also becoming increasingly expensive whilst these “food-like” products are becoming increasingly cheaper. Again there’s also the ethical issue of animal farms, GM foods etc etc, and if you want organic foods, that’s an extra cost that many can’t afford, even if they have the best intents.
Next, many companies deliver food directly to your door; from supermarkets to fast-food restaurants and take-aways. If you can get your food delivered to your door, why would you ever leave your house?
Gym memberships are also an extra expense that make keeping fit more difficult, and after working a 9-5 who would want to go to the gym when they can watch the latest episode of Eastenders? Of course there’s always the option of doing home work outs, but that requires a hell of a lot more motivation. Once you’re at the gym you’ve got no choice, you’ve got to do something. At home you have a TV, your phone, a couch, bed, Xbox etc… all so much more entertaining than the gym. I didn’t used to believe in going to the gym until I tried it. The feeling you get during and after a workout doesn’t compare to anything else. It’s so addictive, and the more often you do it, the more addictive it becomes, it starts to overtake your life, your eating habits fall into place, you become more happy, positive, I can’t speak up about exercise enough. I’ve also made some good friends, none my age (mostly mothers, 30+) but that doesn’t matter when you’re all there for the same reason. You just need to break free from the “lazy-cycle”.
Nowadays people don’t communicate in person anymore, phone calls are becoming rarer. People prefer to communicate via Facebook and Whatsapp and stunt on Instagram with money that they don’t have and Jordans that they tried on in the shop once. I remember the good days when friends would say “knock for me”, before going to the park to play football. Now you go to a school and a group of friends would sit there in silence communicating with each other on their phones.
From birth, children are growing up around technology. How can you give a toddler an iPad, then when you take it away, you think it will accept the stuffed teddy bear, book, barbie doll (barbie dolls have also been becoming increasingly fake, big boobs and small waist – bad role models for small girls – size zero fad) or football? Hell NO! It will cry and cry until you give the iPad back. I don’t know why technology is so addictive. I wish I did, I really do.
I believe technology could be a useful tool to learn if you use it properly. Similarly with television. However 98% of the content is created to waste time, to make you dumber and  to kill brain cells. You won’t get far in life watching Big Brother and TOWIE. Those people are famous for being stupid. YOU made them famous by watching them. Joey Essex is famous for being an absolute twat. Now as much as I also adore Joey, you can’t help but wonder how he got to that age without being able to tell the time or blow his nose.
I will explain why this is all relevant at the end, if you’re completely and utterly confused now.

Education & Work

If you look at the price of higher education in some of the most unequal countries (UK and USA for example), the fees are extortionate. I am in the process of doing some of my own research regarding the correlation between university fees and the development of a country (Development measured in 2 ways: the Human Development Index and the Happy Planet Index). Not only are these systems extremely messed up, as only a small proportion of people ever pay off their university debts, but also, it means that less people can further their education… something that should be a standard right for everyone.
This year I had 7 hours a week at university, whilst having to pay £9000. The year comprised of two 11 week terms (for the sake of simplicity, I’m including our field week and reading week within the 11 weeks). Term 3 is just an exam term, we did have 2 revision lectures totalling 3 hours all together. for those 22 weeks (including the 3 hours in term 3) we had a total of 157 contact hours. That’s 157 hours in 1 year, equalling just over £57 an hour. I think you can do the rest of the maths  (minimum wage for an 18 year old is £5.13).
In addition to this, when most, if not all children leave school at the age of 16 or 18, they don’t know how the law works, how the monetary system works, how to buy a house, how to get a good job, how to balance your diet or look after your health etc. These are all extremely important things that everyone needs to know, however they are simply not part of the curriculum… because if they were… boy there would anarchy and outrage.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find work, 0 hour contracts are becoming more and more common and full-time jobs are starting to become extinct. The truth is, companies make much more profit hiring 10 casuals to work 39 hours a week on part-time fees, than to pay 8 full-timers to work 40 hours a week. There are so many loopholes, that quite frankly should be completely illegal! Minimum wage is far lower than the living wage and benefits are far too easy to acquire. Children are a reason to claim benefits. If you think about it… how sick and deluded is that? You’re bringing a person in this world, without the ability or funds to look after them. You’re bringing a child into poverty and struggle just so you can have some extra cash from the government?

Politics

Now I’m sure I don’t have to explain to you how corrupt the political system is all over the world. Capitalism DOES NOT WORK, as stated by well-known 21st Century Marxist thinker David Harvey. Capitalism is a system that searches for profit everywhere, it does not care who is sacrificed or who gets hurt, it has no morals or ethics. It’s a system that aims to make the rich richer, whilst the 99% end up suffering as a consequence. It is a system that aims to distribute money and transfer it from the 99% to the 1%.
With this said, I would like to state that the government is not in charge. The government APPEARS to be in charge, however it is the corporations and banks who have the most power, as they have the most money. People need to stop blaming governments for the bad that goes on in the world, I’m certain the majority of governments really do enter in to power with the best of intentions, however when banks and corporations fund their election campaigns and then say “I helped you get into power, now do as I say and change the tax laws”… it becomes a tricky situation. Why is it that banks are allowed to carry out illegal activities, causing millions of people to go into debt, yet not a single person is jailed..
You only have to go as far as the Occupy Movement (such as Occupy Sun) Facebook pages/website/twitter accounts, or the Anonymous movement or even Green Peace to understand the corruption that is going on that is being hidden from us.

Explanation

Now I will attempt to give my explanation for why the above is happening. You may think I’m crazy etc, however when you see the evidence for yourself and make sense of it, you will understand too.
Essentially, I think the way the system is set up is a means of population control (not in terms of size… as it’s obvious the population is increasing rapidly and little is being done to stop it). There’s a reason that 25% of the UK population is obese, and with such low food prices on junk food, this number is only going to increase. Obesity brings about numerous health issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis etc and with the privatisation of the NHS, this is going to bring huge amounts of money to the companies. Once again this is a way of capitalism. It’s a positive feedback loop that is exactly the same with smoking. Everyone knows smoking kills but because it’s such a huge business (including anti-smoking products) that brings in masses amounts of money, it will never be illegal.
Next, if you’ve noticed the population is getting dumber and dumber with each generation thanks to technology, television and media, whilst only an elite few are getting smarter and developing. If those with the most power wanted us to all be equal, they would not hide things from us, or hack our mobile phones, they would not assassinate powerful activist leaders. All in all, they’re trying to dumb us down so that we’re easier to control and manipulate. They’re caging us in, so that it’s harder to break free.
You don’t really have freedom. If you did you would not be punished for expressing yourself outside of the system, you would not go to jail or be murdered for trying to break free. If you were really free, you would not be stuffed into the system where everyone is treated unfairly, you would not be tested in the same way as everyone else. We need a new system that works in favour of the 99%.
If YA DONT KNOW, ya do now ;)

Labour? or Labourless?

I’ve been posting and sharing a lot of posts regarding the corruption of politics and how awful the tories are going to be when someone commented saying that they’re glad labour didn’t win because they were going to raise taxes higher than they already are for the working people whilst there are people sitting on benefits at home not paying a single penny and getting thousands of pounds worth. However, if you didn’t have to work but you still got just as much money as if you were working, or even more… would you work?
Now I know many might say yes… “I’m not lazy”, “I want to achieve something with my life” blah blah blah. But if you’re just as happy not doing anything… do you blame them for not wanting to work? If you want someone to blame… blame the system, petition to lower the tax cap.
The comment this person made was extremely long and very angry… I’m sure it wasn’t aimed at me, at least I hope not. However, I love that people were getting involved, and that they were angry. Anger shows passion, and at the end of the day, an angry population is much harder to control than a depressed one. So let’s get angry people! Let’s make change happen!

We Live in a Zombie Apocalypse (Thought of the Week)

We see so many movies where the world is run by zombies who destroy absolutely anything and everything in their way to get to their next source treasure, i.e. blood. These zombies are hypnotised, in a sense to not see anything other than their target, they have no emotions, no soul and no sense of right or wrong, good or bad. You may think this will never happen, it’s a million miles away from reality and that humans are incapable of such thing. However, I am here to tell you that it’s already happening! You already live in zombie apocalypse.

Now here comes there metaphor…
Capitalism — an economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state — thrives on profit, and its main aim is to find the next big source of income, whether it be Oil, Gas (through fracking), whether its through the apple watch, etc. Capitalism doesn’t care where the next source of profit comes from… as long as it makes profit and LOTS OF IT. It doesn’t care if nature gets destroyed, if people get killed, whether it causes climate change and billions worth of damage.
Luckily, there are human survivors, and lots of them. We have the power to kill these zombies off, stop the handful of people that own absolutely everything on this planet. We need to stick together and FIGHT. At the end of the day, money is something that was invented by humans that has no real value, yet it is driving people crazy. When you die… your money doesn’t die with you. People concentrate too much on materialistic things rather than what actually matters.

Shocka – My Revolution (ft. Russell Brand)

Shocka (1/3 of rap trio Marvell) has released his first solo piece of work and it is full anger, rage and insight on how the human race has diminished to follow a political/economic system that no longer functions to serve the people it’s meant to. My revolution is taken from his forthcoming 10 track EP, “F.I.S.T” which addresses other issues including racism and inequality. It gives me great pleasure to hear an artist using his talent for the greater good, to inspire and educate others. If only we had more people from all backgrounds coming together to inspire and fight what is right, for what has been taken away from us over the past few hundred years. We now live in a system that we know nothing about, where the world is ruled and governed by banks and corporations and politicians still have to do all the dirty work. When FIST is out, I beg you listen and take it in, it is one of the most inspiring pieces of work to come from the London underground scene for a long time. I would love to see Shocka work with the likes of Akala, Mic Righteous and Suli Breaks.

I had the pleasure of filming the clip with Russell Brand at the beginning of the video myself, and what is said is very true. We need to come together and realise how much power we have if we really want to make a difference. Thought of the Week – Health isn’t a Choice! (19/04/2015)

I was doing my weekly shop in Sainsbury’s this week and I wanted to get some water (the healthiest option, I rarely buy juice as it has few vitamins and generally just high in sugar, and I’m sure I don’t have to explain why I don’t buy fizzy drinks, lol). But anyway when I went to get a bottle this is the choice that was available:

Water in Sainsburys

The black circle above is the only non flavoured water that was available and it was Sainsbury’s own, unsurprisingly. I’m also fussy with my water and I only buy Evian or Smart Water as they taste nicer (yes water does have a taste lol). Whether intentional or not, lack of healthy options available to buy is even worse than making fruit & veg expensive and junk food cheap. We don’t even have the option of being healthy anymore! I was completely appalled by this. Such a wide choice of non-beneficial and sugary drinks while the best is close to non-existent. Next time you go to the shop, have a look at what is available.

  • [Thought of the Week]

"Maybe cheating in a relationship isn't the worst thing you could do, maybe it's just human nature?"

Remember when you were a child, and your parents would tell you you're not allowed to eat sweets, or make a mess in your bedroom, and you'd do the complete opposite and crave it even more just because you're not allowed? Or if you're on a diet, you know you're not allowed cake or carbs, but simply because you know you're not allowed it, you want it even more? Well surely the same applies in relationships?
Firstly, I want to start by saying we're not perfect, but perfection is something we should strive towards. Honesty is the best policy.
A friend of mine is genuinely one of the loveliest people I know, with the best heart and the best intentions and I don't want to show him in a negative light whatsoever, simply provide you with an alternative idea. I've known him for a few years, however we only started speaking properly about a year ago. We both found each other attractive, blah blah blah, so we decided to book a hotel room. He ignored me for a few days, so obviously something was wrong, then he told me there's another girl he loves (obviously I didn't know this before), as they weren't together. I didn't think much of it, actually I was extremely envious of this girl, and that she has someone in her life that is so dedicated and faithful. A few months later, conversation escalated, and we once again decided to go hotel, and a few days beforehand he once again cancelled. This time I was pretty angry and upset, because he'd lead me on and then cancelled. Obviously we're not together but I'm my own person too at the end of the day and don't want to be lead on.
My back was super sore from gym the previous day and he offered a massage, it was rubbish and he didn't get very far unfortunately as he was starting to give in, and couldn't resist the attraction any longer. Not a lot happened as I stopped him, before it escalated too far. I'd hate for my future husband to cheat on me, so I could only give this couple the same respect (they were together a few months at this point). The following day he thanked me, and was grateful for stopping him.
The point of this example is, I know my friend loves his girlfriend very much but none of us are perfect and we all give in to temptation now and again. Many males/females cheat because they have a craving, and a hoe gets in the way that has no respect for the relationship and only wants his/ her needs fulfilled, few will have a conscience and stop anything

Alternatively, on a separate occasion I was speaking to another friend about this topic. He told me that he's seen a sidechick/man save many relationships. His reasons were that if you have an argument with your partner, instead of ending the relationship, you go to see a sidechick/man, relax, then go back to your partner happy and proceed as normal. I disagree with his reasoning however I see the point behind it.
As long as you don't make a habit out of temptation, and are honest... maybe we're too extreme when it comes to cheating? I disagree with cheating, and don't condone it, however this is just a thought. Everyone get's bored of everything eventually if you get too high a dose, it's just a matter of balance.
