Breed – Kingsville

Breed is a rapper from Club Mango Music, a group hailing from London. This is Breed’s warm upbreed EP and is his first solo project since 2011. His upcoming mixtape Studio Therapy is bound to be a hit.
Breed mixes mellow jazz sounds with soft hip-hop beats and vocals them to produce a mixtape that is bound to get you relaxed and just enjoying the music. The track listing is carefully set out to take you on a journey of sound and genre, each track telling its own story. I definitely recommend it you’re a fan of rap, Frank Ocean or even Kendrick Lamar which I think track 5 – “Stand Down” has similarities to.
This EP also features some interesting skits that will get you in the mood and start thinking. “Someday you’ll sit on the throne and the truth will be what you make it”.
You can tell this EP is not of album quality just yet but is well on the way it won’t take too long before I’ll be expecting to hear this guy being played on 1Xtra, for sure! Especially by the next mixtape.
Keep a look out for the rest of CMM on YDK… if you like what you’ve heard so far!

Mainey – Covers Mixtape

Mainey has been releasing covers for a couple of years now and has
racked up over 1.5k subscribers on youtube and well over 300k views! Not bad huh? But you’ve got to give to him, he is very talented.
He covers songs from Mario, to Chris Brown and even Carly Rae Jepsen! His range is amazing, he hits every single high note in Climax and Frank Ocean’s – “Thinking Bout You” confidently and unlike every other male who covered these songs and sounded weak and slightly pitchy, Mainey did not. He also remixed and merged 2 other songs, which surprisingly sounded verrrrry good! Who woulda thought of putting Chris Brown’s – “Don’t wake me up” over Maroon 5 – “Payphone” ? Well..
You start to see Mainey’s experimentation and his own creativity flowing through, as well as staying true to the already stunning songs and doing them justice, it being a ‘COVERS mixtape’.. however this doesn’t leave him with much to set him apart from every single other upcoming male singer just covering the latest male ballad, but at this rate, as he’s starting to release originals, but until then, me personally, I’d love to see him switch things up, differently, transform a song and make it HIS.
He hasn’t released anything for a month or so, and next time he does you’ll be sure to know, TRUST ME! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next, YDK are following him on his story to success!
If YA DONT KNOW, ya do now ;)

A Star – A Star in the Making

A StarAngel‘s younger but nonetheless just as talented brother (possibly
even more so, as he raps AND sings! You decide,) has just released a
mixtape showcasing his talents, and just what a STAR  he is! It has
features from AngelManga & LifeLines, most of the mixtape however
is him solo, but you know what? He doesn’t need anyone else!
12 tracks long, you wont even get bored of it if you have it on replay for the night/afternoon/morning or whenever you decide to listen to it. A Star is a very talented artist, both with his flow and lyrically, he just has a way with words, like it just comes naturally to him, he doesn’t need punchlines or metaphors to be good, that kinda talent is rare! I predict big things for him, especially as an R&B rapper. “Feel my pain”, “Dear diary” or “Cindy” are probably my favourites, but all the song are to a very high standard! You could almost call it an album! It’s one of my fav mixtapes I’ve heard in a while actually!
When I saw that Manga was on this mixtape I was extremely excited, but later disappointed when I heard his feature, for Manga; rather weak, but hey, you gotta love a bit of Manga regardless! The female singer, despite being very talented I thought just didn’t suit the track. The only other thing I’d like to see from A Star is either a garage, house or possibly even a carnival track? That’d be interesting to hear!
He is definitely one to watch, I’m really excited, go download!

Rough Copy – Sweet But Street

After having to leave X Factor due to visa issues and being unable to
make it to Las Vegas to Louis’ house, the boys are trying their best
to make it without the help of X Factor, still unsigned and working hard, “Sweet But Street” is their first release.
These boys are all extremely talented vocalists, with their voices blending so beautifully together. They’re the R&B group the UK music scene is missing right now, they’re faultless, I honestly can’t slate them whatsoever! The “Our Love” acoustic is my favourite from this mixtape.
This is one of those tapes that you can just put on repeat, & chill, just feel good and mellow, definitely worth the download.  I can’t wait to see what else they’re guna release, such talented guys that take what they do seriously, behind all the cat daddying. Follow them on twitter – KazSterling & Joey.J

Rax – The Pickpocket

Rax is a rapper from London who’s flows, lyrical content and delivery are very much on point. “The Pickpocket” was released a few months ago so I apologise in being late, but music is timeless and the mixtape is still there available for you to download so go ahead, and it’s absolutely free so you have NO excuse what so ever!

This mixtape only has 2 features, allowing more space to show his talents so if you’re into seeing as many different on 1 tape then this mixtape is not for you, however if you like listening to clever lyrics and word play then you’re in luck! The mixtape showcases a number of genres focusing on Freestyle/Rap but does have more serious tracks like a Refix of J Cole’s – Balance (The acoustic featuring Josh Osho is something you MUST listen to – HERE), Running Away & Lights out. ‘Up In Da Clouds’ is another favourite of mine.
It also features a few clips from “Oliver” which is always nice to hear, Throwback or what?! “Please Sir, can I have some more?”
It is a good mixtape and definitely worth a download, however I do think its fairly ‘safe’ and doesn’t take any risks, Rax sticks to what he does best and doesn’t experiment. A wider range of styles and genres as well as experimentation with different features & beats is 100% something I’d like to see from him in the future. There’s soooooo much potential here and I can’t wait to see what else he has in store for the future!

"Maybe cheating in a relationship isn't the worst thing you could do, maybe it's just human nature?"

Remember when you were a child, and your parents would tell you you're not allowed to eat sweets, or make a mess in your bedroom, and you'd do the complete opposite and crave it even more just because you're not allowed? Or if you're on a diet, you know you're not allowed cake or carbs, but simply because you know you're not allowed it, you want it even more? Well surely the same applies in relationships?
Firstly, I want to start by saying we're not perfect, but perfection is something we should strive towards. Honesty is the best policy.
A friend of mine is genuinely one of the loveliest people I know, with the best heart and the best intentions and I don't want to show him in a negative light whatsoever, simply provide you with an alternative idea. I've known him for a few years, however we only started speaking properly about a year ago. We both found each other attractive, blah blah blah, so we decided to book a hotel room. He ignored me for a few days, so obviously something was wrong, then he told me there's another girl he loves (obviously I didn't know this before), as they weren't together. I didn't think much of it, actually I was extremely envious of this girl, and that she has someone in her life that is so dedicated and faithful. A few months later, conversation escalated, and we once again decided to go hotel, and a few days beforehand he once again cancelled. This time I was pretty angry and upset, because he'd lead me on and then cancelled. Obviously we're not together but I'm my own person too at the end of the day and don't want to be lead on.
Another few months later we started talking, innocent conversation about gym, films etc (this time via dm on twitter as I deleted his number and vice versa, I assume), and I had calmed down over the previous incident, he was a genuinely lovely person and I admire the faithfulness to his yet to be girlfriend, I hope I find someone like that in the future. But anyway, we decided to have a gym session together, as we live near each other we went to the park, and for the majority of it, it was a really good session, fun, productive (my legs KILLED the following day) but there was sexual tension, especially towards the end. My back was super sore from gym the previous day and he offered a massage, it was rubbish and he didn't get very far unfortunately as he was starting to give in, and couldn't resist the attraction any longer. Not a lot happened as I stopped him, before it escalated too far. I'd hate for my future husband to cheat on me, so I could only give this couple the same respect (they were together a few months at this point). The following day he thanked me, and was grateful for stopping him.
The point of this example is, I know my friend loves his girlfriend very much but none of us are perfect and we all give in to temptation now and again. Many males/females cheat because they have a craving, and a hoe gets in the way that has no respect for the relationship and only wants his/ her needs fulfilled, few will have a conscience and stop anything

Alternatively, on a separate occasion I was speaking to another friend about this topic. He told me that he's seen a sidechick/man save many relationships. His reasons were that if you have an argument with your partner, instead of ending the relationship, you go to see a sidechick/man, relax, then go back to your partner happy and proceed as normal. I disagree with his reasoning however I see the point behind it.
As long as you don't make a habit out of temptation, and are honest... maybe we're too extreme when it comes to cheating? I disagree with cheating, and don't condone it, however this is just a thought. Everyone get's bored of everything eventually if you get too high a dose, it's just a matter of balance.
