If you weren’t there you missed out big time! The night was packed full of crazy talented artists and groups, but I must admit Status were the best by far. They killed that stage! They murdered it and then set it on fire. I’ve seen these 3 boys live before but never seen them perform like this; they really shone on a big stage and felt right at home up there receiving an incredible response from the audience who included the likes of Flawless and NangTV.
Their 10 minute set included Usher – Nice and Slow, Tyga and Chris Brown – Ayo, Montell Jordan – This is how we do it, two original tracks (one of which they brought out Mr. DJ Ironik for) and my personal favourite a Jessie J – Bang Bang and Chris Brown – Look at me now combo. Whilst some of the other acts could only fit around 3 tracks into their 10 minute set alongside lots of talking, Status played it smart and were able to show their diversity with their choice of tracks not only in genre but they put a few throwbacks in there and it wasn’t even a Thursday…
Their dancing was definitely a highlight with all 3 of them pulling off a flawless backflip to the beat (see video). On occasion the vocals were sacrificed but on the whole the performance was definitely very, very flawless, even with the intense choreography they still managed to get some sick harmonies in. Their clothing was simple but looked effective and somehow they still managed to look like a trio with subtle colour coordination (whether it was intentional or not).
👌💯
Their set was so jam-packed with energy, they definitely deserved to be later on in the night as I know a large proportion of the audience showed up much later and missed their performance (their loss). I hope this was a huge platform for them and I only expect to see even bigger things from them. They are already like 3 mini Chris Browns so by the time they reach his levels, they’re going to be an unstoppable force.
The likes of Rasharn Powell, Courtney Bennett, Tanika and Rough Copy took to the stage after Status and in my opinion, despite sick vocals the energy and performance was not on the same level as Status. Omarion OBVIOUSLYYYYY had everyone hyped.

YDK had the pleasure of award winning actress Adi Alfa interviewing 2/3 of Status after their show to get the gossip on how they think it went, their inspirations, celebrity crushes and more importantly whether they’re single or not!! 😉 The interview as well as sneak previews of their performance will be out on YDK’s YouTube by the end of the week so look out for it! In the mean time find the boys on:
Also look out for their upcoming video: “Get it” featuring DJ Ironik, shot and edited by NangTV.
If YA DONT KNOW, ya do now ;)
